Arrivals from Heathrow can travel by Heathrow Express which is an expensive and time consuming service because Paddington Station is on the wrong side of London. You and your luggage will still have to travel across London to get to London-rooms in Stratford and Barking.

To save yourself energy,time and money, travel by underground. Take the Piccadilly line direct from Heathrow to Hammersmith, then cross the platform to the East bound district line direct to Barking which saves you traveling time plus money if you use the OYSTER card.
Arrivals from Gatwick, take the Gatwick Express rail service to Victoria Station, then take the Underground (Subway) head to the District Line going to either Barking or Upminster going East. To save time if you are going to Barking, it is faster to take the train to Blackfriars Station then change to the district line east bound to Barking.
If you are traveling from Luton airport, to Barking, take the train to Blackfriars station and change to the district line east bound to Barking.

If you are a family or a group London Underground (Subway) and Transport for London (bus) offer discounted family or group ticket. If you are traveling from Stanstead, it is cheaper and you save time by taking a National Express Coach to Stratford Underground station, then go one stop on the Jubilee line to Westham and change to the district line east bound to Barking

From Barking Station you can take the District Underground to Central London or the fast C2C over ground train from Barking Station. The train is air conditioned which keeps you cool in summer. It takes only 12 minutes to Fenchurch street which is close to the Tower of London. If you want to change to the underground then change at West Ham Station.
